"Tournament in France"

My tournament in France was very exciting. I played in a beautiful
place called Nance. I flew there from Gdańsk on Friday. The travel was
hard because it was hot during the flight. The place where we slept was a very big sports centre with a hotel, swimming pool and huge sports halls where we
played . It was so big that over twenty-four tennis tables could enter there. I'm
very happy with my achievements. I won a bronze medal in team and the fifth place in individual tournament. Hundreds of people from all over the world entered the competition so it was a very difficult test for me.

My favourite book

My favourite book is "A Series of Unfortunate Events".
The book is telling a story of three children for whom everything that
happens is unfortunate. In spite of personal charm and intelligence, the Baudelaire`s life is full of distress and tears. Since the
first pages of this book, when children are playing on the beach and they
receive tragic news, misfortune does not leave them. They are like
magnets attracting bad luck.

With my mum and sister I like to do shopping, with dad I like to sail. Also all my family likes to travel and spend holidays together. My hobby is free-hand drawing, listening to music, or composing. I like spiders very much.

I wish I had one.

Spiders have become very popular, but taking care of them is not cheap. Spiders make silk spider-webs. They have 8 legs and you can find them everywhere but not in the Antarctica. Now there are about 38000 differnt kinds of them. My mum and sister dislike spiders.

Now I have a dog and a cat, before I had a guinea-pig and a lizard.

Long May weekend

During the May Long Weekend this year in Poland (the longest in Europe, 9 days) I was in Masuria, an area in northeastern Poland. Masuria is extremely popular with Polish holidaymakers. There are beautiful forests and lakes there. In the forests there are many fascinating and uncommon birds and other animals. In Masurian lakes you can swim or enjoy yourself kayaking or going on boat trips. In Masuria there are many campings so you can find accomodation easily.

I went to Szczytno. In Szczytno there are ruins of a castle and a museum of Masuria.
In the museum you can admire original embroidery, pictures and other
beautiful Masurian things. I spent the whole weekend there. It was interesting and fun.

My name is Brigita. I am 16 years old. I am learning at “Šaltinis“ secondary school, in the 10th class. I was born in Marijampolė in 1990 10 17. Now I am finishing the 10th and waiting for exams.I‘m very afraid of them.
I live with my mum, dad and two my litlle dogs.I love my family very much. They are so good for me. My mum always buys what I want, dad always helps with my lessons, and my dogs, they are so lovely and sweet.

This is my best friend – Čipas. Is he not sweet? I love him. We play all day. He is very kind for me. Čipas always protects me. All the morning, when my parents come to wake up me,Čipas barks and bites. Of Course I have another dog – Deilas. He is very pretty, he is my dad`s pet. Deilas ir very proud, we always laugh at him, because for him proud Deilas always loses.

My class

History of my class

I am learning in “Šaltinis“secondary school, in 10th class. My class letter is “d“. I started this school in 1997, when I was 7 years old and went to the first class. From the beginning my teacher was Lina until the fifth class. She was strict, but taught well and for that reason I liked her. When I started to go to the fifth class we had to separate with her and from that time our class met with Daiva. She was a teacher of biology, later chemistry. We loved Daiva, because she was very kind and helpful. We had a lot of trips with her and all the class. After some time she had a child and left our class. The new teacher was Ona . She is a teacher of biology too. She loves our class and we love her too, because she wants to teach us, not just to give bad marks. She likes trips and for that reason our class likes her so much. Now we are finishing 10th class and waiting for exams.

Classmates

Our class is wonderful, because all the classmates are kind and helpful to each other. There are 25 students in our class. All the students are friendly and good, but I like a few of them best. The best classmates and good friends are Juozas, Andrius, Brigita, Mindaugas. I like all the classmates, but these are the best friends, because we spend a lot of time together, even after the school. For example: going to clubs, going to sports club, shopping and a lot of more interesting things. We spend really a good time together and we are trying to help to each other. I will say what they are like…

Andrius and Juozas. Andrius is always funny and helpful. He goes to track and field athletics and wins a lot of prizes. Juozas is very funny too, always in a good mood. We go to a sports club with him. We like to spend a good time in clubs or to dance in our school.

Mindaugas is a good and helpful friend who likes to spend time in the club too. He has good computer skills .

There are Juozas and Brigita. I said something about Juozas so I will talk about Brigita. I can say a lot of good words about her, but I will try to say shortly. She is really a wonderful girl. She learns well and is clever, knows what she wants to do in future and trying to achieve it. Studying well she finds time to spend with us. She is a very lively and nice girl , always helps.

Class life

There are not a lot of problems between classmates in our class because students are friendly to each other. We like to go to the yard of school during the breaks. We play basketball or football, volleyball at the lessons of physical education. Class’s life is more intresting after school. We spend our free time playing or dancing in clubs. Sometimes we go to bowling or billiards.

So, that is my wonderful class. I am happy to learn there and have such friendly classmates and good teachers too. I hope we will be good friends all the time.

Now I am in 10 class . I like some lessons and study well , but I have lessons which don't like.

This year I end without any bad marks, without 7 , just 8 and 9 are in my term .

Oh ..... I have a brother , his name is Arnas

He goes to the same school like me , but he is in 7 class.

He is a very clever boy and studies better than I. He goes to a sports club .

My Favourite Sport - Football

My favourite sport is football. It is a very interesting game, despite that some people say that it is quite boring. The reason why I love football is not just because it is the most popular sport in the world, but for its strength. There is no other thing that could give me so much joy and relaxation like a good football match.

Football is a team sport played between two teams, of 11 players each. It is a ball game played in a grass field with goal at each end. The object of a game is to score by maneuvering the ball into the opposing goal. The predominant feature of the sport is that no player other than the goal keeper may use their hands to propel the ball in general play. The winner is team who score the most goals by the end of the match.

Football is generally a free flowing game, with play stopping only when the ball has left the field or when play is stopped by the referee. All football players are specified. Broadly, there are four main categories: strikers, defenders, midfielders and the most important goalkeepers. Football has a lot of rules, but today I won’t talk about them.

The team who I fond of is Manchester United FC (MUFC). This football club plays in Premier League and is its champion. Red devils – that is their nick name – also plays in Champion League, like one of the best football clubs in the world.

Christiano Ronaldo is one of the Manchester United players who I like the most of all. Even he is only 21 year old, he has achieved a lot by now. Christiano is real hot-headed, but the way that he act with the ball is totally amazing.
In my opinion football is really superb sport. Not everyone can control the ball with feet the way like football players do. Footballers must have a lot of nerve and persistence. They also have to be very strong and hardy, because to run in a field for 90 minutes isn’t easy.

In the end I just want to say that football is my number in sports.

I wanted to tell you about the first part of the movie...
All started when the dolphin was stolen from the pool, that dolphin was a talisman of the football team and they didin’t know what to do. Then the secretary told about the detective Ace Ventura, they didn’t have any choice but to hire him. He was the best and actually he was the only one. The film was funny , I don’t know how many times I have seen it but every time I see it, it always makes me laugh. I don’t know but I like the actor, the way he is acting in the movie then the movie. Jim Carey is my favourite actor, all of his movies are very funny. I think you all have seen this movie but I really wanted to write about this movie. Here are some photos ….

My name is Andrius. I am 16 years old. I am learning at “Šaltinis“ secondary school, in the 10th class. I was born in Marijampolė in 1990 and since then I have lived here. Now I am finishing the 10th class and waiting for my exams.

In my family there are 4 persons. My mother-Irena, father- Eugenijus, sister-Gintarė and me, Andrius. We have a cottage about 10km near Marijampolė. Our house has two floors, we have 3 hectares' land and we have a big pond. I like to swim in the pond on hot summer days. I and my family like to sit in the yard and to grill the meat on the fire. Sometimes I go to the cottage with my friends.

My hobby is sports. I practice track and fields. My favourite is 110/hurdles. Sometimes I run 100,200 or relay-race 4x100 meters. I have been practising track and fields about 5 years. I train 5 times at week.

This is a photo when I became the Lithuanian champion of 60/hurdles in 2007 03 17. This is my biggest prize I have ever received.

I like to listen to music at my freetime. I like dance, electro, house, rock and metal music. My favourite group is Metallica and the artist - Marilyn Manson. My dream is to go to the Rock am Ring festival in Nurnberg (Deutschland). This is a 3 days' festival and there you can find the best groups of rock.In my freetime i play my electric guitar.I have had the guitar for about 6 months.

At weekends i like to spend my time with friends. We go to a club, play basketball, football or just sit and talk. When the day is hot and shiny we go to swim in the river Šešupė.This is near my home. That’s all about my free time. I hope that you like it 

New York is the biggest city in the United States.

The city is densely populated with people from differents cultures.

Manhattan is the heart of New York, the world financial center , the
cultural center, the arts center and the entertainment center.

In Manhattan there are lots of big banks, museums, theaters and a lot of
shops.

Some of beautiful places In New York:

Broadway Street and the District around Times Square in Manhattan, oneof the main entertainment centers in the world. A lot of famous theaters are situated there.

Central Park is one the biggest parks in Manhattan. In the park we can run in Boulevards and we can take a rest. We can find a lake, a concert hall, ZOO and ice rink here.
The sea port is a nice, historic place in Manhattan. The United State used it as the main port. Now there are many shops, restaurants and several museum boats here.
St. Patrick cathedral is placed at the fifth alley in the center of Manhattan. It is the biggest catholic cathedral in gothic style.
The Statue of Liberty represents the United States. It stands on the Liberty island.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of largest art museums in the world. Its works of arts come from America, Europe, China, Africa, the Far East and Islam culture.

The Brooklyn Bridge was the longest bridge in the world. It connects Brooklyn with Manhattan.

In 1981 a new band was started . This band in the start was called “SS-20 (that is a nuclear missile).

Later they changed their name to ‘’Dezerter’’ and with that name they have been present till today.

Dezerter is a punk band with deep messages included in their songs .

Members of the group:

- Robert Matera, his nick is ‘’Robal’’ (guitarist and vocalist)
- Jacek Chrzanowski (bass)
- Krzysiek Grabowski (lyrics and drums)

Dezerter it is band which opposed the old political regime and communism.

The ghost story

Three years ago I invited three friends to my house : Ola, Kamila and
Karolina. We prepared some popcorn and sandwiches and played a game for
girls. The game was working when somebody touched a flower. We turned
off the flower and put it away. Next we watched a horror film. Every time
there was a scary scene we heard some music coming from the flower. Me
and my friends were astonished. I checked if the flower was turned off
and it was . We got frightened. We didn't want to continue watching
that film. At night we couldn't sleep.

The rainforests are dying, plants and animals are disappearing. People are dying and rivers, seas and air are polluted. We must start solving these problems and repair the damage. One of the major problems in our planet is the destruction of the rainforests. They are home to half the world's spieces and to millions of people. Forests give us oxygen so we can breath. The trees are being cut down for paper. The result is that birds and animals lose their homes and die. If we continue to burn and cut down the forests, the earth will never be the same again. Other big problems are water and air pollution. Do you like swimming or drinking cold water? Factories ee pollute our rivers and lakes with dangerous chemicals. The cars around our cities give off fumes. We have a big problem with breathing in towns. If we don't do something now, cities will become imposssible to live in. Together we can save our planet. All we need to do is open our eyes and help the earth to survive.

My name is Karol and I'd like to tell you about my favorite
game Travian. Travian is a German strategic online
game (MMOSG-Massive Multiplayer Online Strategic Game).The rules are
simple: you have to build and expand villages, trade and fight with
other players. Nowadays two versions of the game exist: v2 and v3,both
have their pros and cons.
Currently in Poland only two servers in version 3 exist. Altogether
there are 7
Polish servers:5 normal, one 3xSpeed(game is three times faster) and
1CLASSIC (calculating points like in the older version of Travian.
Fields with resources can be developed only to level 12, lack of oases,
lack of stone-cutter,
There are no heroes nor trappers.

Polish breakfast is about 7 or 8 o'clock and it's not very large. It's usually scrambled eggs, toasts, a bowl of cereal with milk, sandwiches and tea or a cup of coffee. If breakfast is bigger you can eat vegetables, sausages, some salad, but most people don't have breakfast like this every day. For second breakfast we usually eat sandwiches and snacks from our school bar.
We have dinner at 2 o'clock. Very often it's soup, some meat like chopped or minced meat, fish, potatoes, rice, pasta and salad. Of course many peolpe go out to eat something. There are many restaurants serving food from Poland or other countries. Oriental, Indian, Chinese or Italian food restaurants are very popular. People usually go to fast food bars and eat junk food.
Traditional polish food is a sauerkraut stew or dumplings and people usually eat it too.
Polish food isn't too unhealthy and it's very tasty

In my opinion Polish food is delicious. Some food is healthy and some is heavy and unhealthy.

In Poland we often eat breakfast at 8:00 o'clock on a weekday. On our free days we eat at between 10 o'clock and 12 o’clock. For breakfast toasts and eggs are a popular dish. Other
food what we often eat are sandwiches, cereal or hot dogs.

We eat dinner between 2 and 6 o'clock pm. A popular dish for dinner is chopped potatoes and salad. We eat a soup, meat in sauce or cooked chicken, too. The most popular and my favourite Polish dish is bigos. This is made from cooked cabbage and meat (visible in the picture above).

Supper is the last meal of the day and we often eat light food. Then we often eat sandwiches, cereal or toasts.
When we go out to eat we often eat fish and chips, roast chicken, pizza, spaghetti, lasagne , salads, chopped potatoes, seafood and soups like chicken soup, fish soup, tomato soup, vegetables soup and many more.
Polish people like to eat not only dishes from Polish kitchen. They also like international dishes, but Polish kitchen is not so popular like others in the world.

Most horses can naturaly run very fast. For hundreds of years, people
have enjoyed watching horses take part in racers, jousts and show
jumping competitions. Horses also play team sports such as polo, where
riders hit a ball up and down a field using a long stick. Many people
ride horses for pleasure and enjoy trail-ridimg throught scenic
countryside as a vacation activity.

The purebred Arab horse called the aristocrat of horses. It is a good
all around horse and adapt well to most sports such as jumping and
racers.

Saddlebred
The saddlebred is a very confortable horse to ride and is often used for
pleasure and trail-riding over long distances.

There children learnt reading. However, they coudnt't write, because
letters were in a special press.
Writing of Braille'a arised learnt about a system of writing used by the

army at night. Braille learnt about

from a retired captain, Charles Barbiera de la Serre, who visited his
school. The System was based on 12 convex military points, and
the Braille's one used 6 points.
Later Braille died in 1852 of tuberculosis in Paris.

My favourite football club is Chelsea London. I've been a fan of them for about 4 years.
The basic eleven is: Petr Cech - goalkeeper, Ricardo Fereira - defender, Paulo Fereira - defender, Ashley Cole - defender, John Terry - defender, Joe Cole - midfielder, Arjen Robben - midfielder, Lampard - midfielder, Ballack - midfielder and two forward - Andrij Shevchenko and Dider Drogba. Stadium's name's Stamford Bridhe.
This club was in serious financial slump, but when into the club came Abramovich all has changed.
Now this club is the richest in the world and it has the best shooters of English league. Chelsea London is vice - champion of England. Dider Drogba is the best shooter of champions league.
Chelsea wants to buy now: Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Diego.

The bonsai tree came from China but its name is Japanese because the
bonsai was introduced and popularized in the world thanks to the

The whole kingdom went to her concerts. She played the

Girls loved each other very much. They lived in a castle with their

On their 16th birthday the parents organized a party and invited the

A few years ago people didn`t know what a cell phone is. Cell phone is one of the biggest development in the XX century. Today everyone has cell phones! We can't live without cell phones. Two years ago when somebody had a camera in her/his cell phone everyone went crazy about it. Now cell phones have radios, cameras, a video camera light and many many other super things. The cell phones today are very small but ten years ago the cell phone were like rucksacks. From one moment to the other technology finds better solutions. We live better and we have more friends. Thanks to cell phones we can write to friends short messages, text (SMS) or we can call someone.

Eurovision2007

Serbia won the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki. People from the whole Europe decided that Molitva was the best song in the competition. Do you like this song? I think it isn't excellent but it isn't bad too. Everyone has their own opinion and type.
I liked Romania's song. It's very nice and funny. This song is sung by six men dressed up in clothes that are characteristic for several countries. Everyone of them sings it in a different language. I am very sad because they didn't win.
Next song which I like is Greece song. It has a nice rhythm. That
makes it great to dance :D
The show in Helsinki was very impressive and well organised. There were huge crowds of people in the city and we could see that the atmosphere was really great.
And how about you? Did you like the show and which song did you like the most?

PONs are one of five polish breeds of dog.
They're sheepdog, guard and in the city a
magnificent companion.
These dogs are spontaneous, self-controlled,
smart, alert and excellent mind.
Polish Lowland Sheepdog is careful,
constant, very beloved and made to
live in family, which he protects with
all his strength.
PONs are middle size, they have massive
frame and long, dense fur. They don't
lose fur, but it's necessary to comb it
often (they don't like it). They've got long,
lying ears.
PONs lived in Poland before war, but
after the war they perished. In 1965 they
appeared again and they're in Poland
till now.
For now it isn't popular breed, but I hope
that it will be famous, because I have
PON (she's called Nasza) and I know,
they're wonderful dogs.

UEFA Champions League is european football cup.
Participate in this cup the best European football club for example FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, FC Arsenal, Manchester United, AC Milan, Liverpool FC. First game is 32 teams in 8 groups. In play - off are 16
teams. To the finals advance 2 teams. In my opinion this cup is very

I'm 13. I play the piano but I don't like doing it. I like playing the
guitar. I read many books. One of my favourite books is "We children of the ZOO station". I like basketball, my favourite basketball team is Prokom Trefl Sopot. I like spending weekend with friends very much. My favourite type of music is alternative music, Happysad [ Happysad it's my favourite band ]. I want to have a dog but my mom doesn't agree. My favourite team of hockey is Energa Stoczniowiec Gdañsk. You can see them playing matches in Hala Olivia. I like going there because there is fine atmosphere. My favourite sportsman is Filip Drzewiecki, because he is very good player.

Gdansk zoo

Zoo in Gdańsk Oliwa

In year 2007 a lot of new species of animals came to the zoo in Gdansk. New cages were built for lynx and wildcats. They are also planned for

macaques rhesus monkeys.
Cages for small birds of prey are being built as well.
Some other species which came to the zoo are:caracal male, soon there'll be a femaletoo too, tenrec, madagascan with wingspread of 150cm, also called "flying dog", second female of an anoa and the smallest buffalo in the world.
In our zoo you can also see snow leopards, which came here instead of two female pumas, unfortunately pumas didn't domesticate, weather condition weren't good enough for them.
If you like reptiles and amphibians you can visit newly opened terraria's in hippopotamus pavillons. There you will see yellow anacondas, rocky python and muddy tortoise.
In 2007 Zoo of Oliwa was added to world organization WAZA - World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
It grows rich also about new species of bird :
Egyptian, Hawaiian goose nene and a few others.
In 2007 on 1 February a male chimpanzee, son of Caroline and Yoreya, Youkatan,was born. A month later next young chimpanzee was born, a child of Loli and Yoreya.
Our zoo is big and beautiful, a trip to the zoo is a teaching and interesting way of spending free time and this is my hobby.

My favourite singer is Beyonce. Her full name is Beyoncé Giselle Knowles. She was born in September, so she is the same sign as
me (Virgo). She is 26 years old.
I really enjoy her songs, especially the one called 'Beautiful liar'.
This song is performed with Shakira and it is on Beyonce's new album.
B'Day is a very good album. The album was released on September 4,

The Witcher

Hi!
I'd like to tell you about an interesting game which is going to be in
stores this September. It's called "The Witcher" and it's developed by CD Project.
The game features the player as a Witcher, a warrior who
has been trained to fight since childhood, subjected to mutations and trials that transformed him. He earns his living by killing monsters and is a member of a brotherhood founded long ago to protect people from werewolves, the undead, and a host of other beasts.
All actions can be done using the mouse only, however shortcuts for all of them are fully configurable.
That's the most expensive and(probably) the best game from Poland since "Painkiller" was made. The newest technics like motion-capture was used to design this game. The game is based on a novel by Andrzej Sapkowski (his books are probably known in Czech Republic). In opinion of many foreign papers it'll be the best game of the year. Doesn't it all sound great?
