Coral reefs are the largest living structure on Earth. The reefs cover less than 1% of the Earth's surface.

The coral reef is a colourful aragonite structure supporting a lot of animal and plant life. Because of their amazing diversity of life, coral reefs are often referred to as rainforests of the sea.

Do you know they have been used in the treatment of diseases like: HIV, cancer, cardiovascular disease.

The coral reef is molded by living organisms, stony corals mostly.

The coral reef can be found in the following places:

- the east coast of Australia.

- hot waters of the Red Sea

- Pacific Ocean next to Palau island

- Florida

- Maldives
