Eniac - the first computer

In 1883 English inventor Charles Babbage originated the idea of a programmable computer. His first PC was Eniac (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer). It was constructed by J.P Eckert and J.W Mauchly. The electronic computer was made for US army needs during World War II. ENIAC was very heavy (weighing 30 tons) and it needed 140 kW energy per hour.
Eniac is considered to have begun computer era.
